From the Foreword
Pursuing green is the most important endeavor in the world today. This book is an excellent resource for understanding the state of green technology today. Each technology is set into its historical context with engaging prose and lucid scientific and engineering rigor. It is an encyclopedic source for a wide range of green technologies. Numerous technology case studies throughout the book emulate the process of designing the green systems.
This is a professional's book. Architects, engineers, environmentalists, developers, governmental agencies, and others will be enabled in their pursuit of green design. It serves the purposes of architects by showcasing the broad range of options and the conceptual underpinnings available to them when they begin designing their own green projects. It serves the purposes of engineers by providing the scientific bases for each system. It serves the purposes of the entire building team by discussing the economics, strategies, typical scenarios, and documentation required to implement green projects.
