2006 Fire Plan Review and Inspection Guidelines was developed by the International Code Council to assist designers, inspectors and plan reviewers working with the 2006 International Fire Code, 2006 International Building Code, and referenced standards. It discusses major elements of the codes relevant to fire protection systems and their applicable standards.
The text contains plan review and inspection guidelines for all of the fire protection systems required by Chapter 9 of the 2006 International Fire Code. It focuses on plan review of the various types of fire protection systems prescribed by the 2006 International Fire Code and 2006 International Building Code.
Guidelines are included for the plan review and inspection for private fire protection water mains, fire pumps, fire detection and signaling systems and alternate fire extinguising systems. More than 50 pages of plan review worksheets and inspection guidelines are provided for automatic sprinkler systems, including sprinklers used for the protection of high-piled combustible storage.
It is organized to be as consistent as practical with the number convention used in the Chapter 9 of the 2006 International Fire Code and 2006 International Building Code. Plan review worksheets are organized based on the type of fire protection system specified in these codes. For automatic sprinkler systems, worksheets are divided into specific subject matter such as the requirements for NFPA 13R or NFPA 13D, and separate worksheets for the plan review of automatic sprinkler systems designed for the protection of storage occupancies are also included.
To facilitate plan reviews, each plan review worksheet follows a format that is consistent with the requirements of the relevant 2006 International Fire Code requirements or the applicable NFPA standard.
Includes a CD that contains all of the worksheets found in this book in PDF and RTF format.
