The Site Calculations Pocket Reference, 2nd Edition is a pocket-sized reference packed with essential calculations and formulas, offering a quick-reference resource to help them move forward knowing that they are not "guesstimating" based on what they remember of that formula.
From the Preface
How many times have you been in a meeting planning strategies for actual or hypothetical situations and needed that one piece of information, or formula, or chart, to make a determination, only to find that it's unavailable or back at the office? Quite a few, I bet!
My background is civil engineering and golf course construction, and I cannot tell you how many times I have been in that situation.
This book was put together to be a good source of information for site construction of all kinds and for civil engineering in general. From my own experience I have compiled the most frequently used charts, formulas, and conversions used in general site construction, along with practical examples. The book is intended to combine, in one handy pocket-size publication, all aspects of site work, thus eliminating the time and effort spent to tap the many different sources of information required.
For those of us who work outside the United States, I have included the metric conversions for the English data included. Whether you are moving earth, irrigating, landscaping, or calculating water features, pump capacities or drainage, there is information in this guide to help you in initial design, renovation, or additions in site work.
I hope you will find it as convenient and helpful as I have.
