How this Book Is Arranged
This book provides technical data required to prepare quantity takeoffs and complete construction cost estimates for major construction projects. It will help design and construction professionals compare the cost of design alternatives, perform cost analysis and value engineering, and review estimate quotes and change orders prepared by others. The book includes information on sizing, productivity, equipment requirements, design standards, and engineering factors - all organized according to the latest 2004 CSI MasterFormat classification system.
This edition has been completely updated with new and expanded technical information and arranged according to the newest MasterFormat system for ease of use. Added content covers a range of construction specialties.
RSMeans Estimating Handbook, Third Edition, was reviewed and updated by the RSMeans engineering staff and an independent reviewer. (See "About the Editors" and the "Acknowledgments" for more about the contributors to this publication.)
