This manual includes two sections:
- Part I, Inspection, includes detailed inspection checklists and commentary for the various stages of concrete masonry construction. Requirements are in accordance with the 2005 edition of Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures (ACI 530/ASCE 5/TMS 402) and Specification for Masonry Structures (ACI 530.1/ASCE 6/TMS 602) ( 2005 MSJC). Where appropriate, references are made to specific sections of these documents. Differences between the 2005 and 2002 editions are noted in the text where applicable. Also addresses 2003 International Building Code (IBC) inspection requirements.
- Part II, Testing, provides detailed, step-by-step guidance for performing applicable ASTM testing procedures on common masonry materials and systems.
