From the Introduction
Conduit Bending and Fabrication provides a comprehensive overview of conduit bending and fabrication procedures and methods. This textbook is designed to develop basic competencies in electrical apprentices and beginning learners.
Conduit Bending and Fabrication begins with a thorough discussion of hand bending tools, conduit layout, and simple hand bending procedures. Subsequent chapters expand on the basics to include procedures for hand bending offsets and saddles. After the principles of bending and layout are covered, later chapters cover the same types of bends made with mechanical, electric, and hydraulic benders.
Conduit Bending and Fabrication contains 10 chapters. At the beginning of each chapter, a chapter Table of Contents makes it easy to find desired information. At the end of each chapter, a chapter Summary helps learners review key concepts and reinforce common procedures.
Key terms are italicized and defined in the text for additional clarity. Tech Facts and vignettes throughout the text provide information that enhances text content. An extensive Glossary and Appendix provide useful, easy-to-find information. A comprehensive Table of Contents and Index simplify navigation and make finding information easy.
The Conduit Bending and Fabrication CD-ROM located at the back of the book is designed as a self-study aid to complement information presented in the book and includes Quick Quizzes, an Illustrated Glossary, Video Clips, and Reference Material. The Quick Quizzes offer an interactive review of topics in a chapter. The Illustrated Glossary provides a helpful reference to terms commonly used in industry. The Video Clips are a collection of video clips and animated graphics showing common conduit bending procedures. Reference Material provides access to Internet links to manufacturer, association, and American Tech resources.
