Based on the 2000 International Residential Code and 2001 Supplement to the International Codes, the New York Residential Code has been updated to reflect the latest technological advances in building design and construction and is a companion to the Building Code. Among the technical changes are new provisions for prescriptive steel framing and energy criteria. This code also contains plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas provisions that coordinate with the Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code and Fuel Gas Code.
- Fire
Code of New York State*. The New York Fire Code is based on the 2000 International Fire Code and 2001 Supplement to the International Codes. This Fire Code has been developed by a broad-based committee of fire chiefs, fire marshals, and members of the fire service/protection industry. The Plumbing Code provides for the acceptance of new and innovative products, materials and systems. Features 14 chapters and appendices covering all major topics, including water sizing, vent sizing, and drain waste.
- Mechanical Code of New York State. Based on the 2000 International Mechanical Code, the Mechanical Code for the State of New York was formally adopted by the State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council on March 6, 2002.
