The Analysis of Changes, 2000 IFC to 2006 IFC, familiarizes building officials, fire officials, design professionals, contractors and others in the construction industry with important changes that took place between the 2000 International Fire Code and 2006 International Fire Code (IFC). It is a direct link and comparison of provisions between the 2000 and 2006 editions, without the need for the review of the 2003 edition. For those interested in further detail, the 2003 International Fire Code section number is provided as a reference.
Chapters in the Analysis of Changes are organized following the order of chapters in the International Fire Code to make it easier to use in coordination with the code.
The changes covered were identified based on their frequency of application, special significance or change in application. For information on all changes that took place between the 2000 and 2003 International Fire Code, and the 2003 and 2006 International Fire Code, please reference the following publications:
As with any code-change text, Analysis of Changes, 2000 IFC to 2006 IFC, is best used as a study companion to the 2000 and 2006 editions of the International Fire Code. Because only a very limited discussion of each code change is provided, the code itself should always be referenced to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the code change and its application. |
