The 2009 International Residential Code Checklist: Building and Energy Provisions Chapters 1-11 has been developed to assist and guide the designer and plans examiner through the provisions of the 2009 International Residential Code (IRC), Chapters 1 through 11. International Code Council is pleased to offer the 2009 International Residential Code Checklist: Building Provisions. This checklist has been developed to facilitate the planning, design and plan review process for the architect, designer, engineer and plan reviewer. It may also serve as a useful support tool for the contractor, builder and inspector in the planning, construction and inspection processes. The checklist is comprehensive and, as a result, somewhat lengthy. However, it has been organized and categorized into subjects that allow the user to identify quickly which comments are applicable to the project. A code section is referenced within each comment so that the user may refer to the code provision for further clarification.

This checklist has been revised and updated to the 2009 provisions of the International Residential Code by Peter Kulczyk, International Code Council Technical Staff.
