IAPMO is proud to present this latest edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code Illustrated Training Manual. With its explanatory text, comprehensive definitions chapter, and many technical diagrams and illustrations, we believe this manual is the finest training manual in the world.
Countless hours by the members of the IAPMO Education Committee and IAPMO staff have gone into this new edition, ensuring that it is as correct and up-to-date as possible. Section numbers have been added for easier reference, the text has been updated, and the committee has added and revised illustrations. Every section has been checked against the requirements of the 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code.
Whether you use this manual to learn the trade, to review your knowledge, or as a reference, remember that this book is intended to be used with the Uniform Mechanical Code, not as a substitute for the Code. Throughout the manual, Code language is quoted and explained, and background information is provided when necessary. However, when you need precise Code language to justify an installation or inspection, be sure to refer to the actual Code.
