Based on the 2003 International Building Code (2003 IBC), the North Carolina Building Code is composed of the 2003 International Building Code and North Carolina Amendments, which are fully integrated. It includes a custom three-ring binder.
The provisions of the 2006 North Carolina Building Code were approved by the North Carolina Building Code Council on September 13, 2005, to be effective July 1, 2006.
