2006 Masonry Codes and Specifications is published by the Masonry Institute of American and the International Code Council. This valuable resource contains masonry related sections of the new 2006 International Building Code and 2006 International Residential Code. It is a valuable reference for engineers, contractors and inspectors working with masonry.
From the Introduction
The Masonry Institute of America believes that the best way to extend and improve the use of masonry is through education and the dissemination of information. Accordingly, the masonry promotion groups of California have joined together uniting their efforts to provide more information to the design professional and builder.
This manual, published by the Masonry Institute of America and the International Code Council is intended for use as a ready reference which furnishes the various code requirements for masonry from the International Building Code, International Residential Code and the California State Building Code that are to be used in conjunction with the Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures (ACI 530-05/ASCE 5-05/TMS 402-05) and Specification for Masonry Structures (ACI 530.1-05/ASCE 6-05/TMS 602-05).
Included in this manual are Guide Specifications for masonry construction set forth in the CSI format with notes to the specifier.
