The International Code Council is proud to introduce the updated question-and-answer application guide dedicated exclusively to the structural provisions of the 2006 International Building Code. The questions presented in this document, 2006 IBC Structural Q&A Application Guide, are commonly asked questions that arise in the application of code provisions during design, plan review, construction, and daily code enforcement. Many of the answers include helpful illustrations (not drawn to scale) that provide a clear understanding of both the intent and meaning of the code text. This document is an essential resource for anyone involved with the 2006 International Building Code structural provisions, including architects, inspectors, building officials, plans examiners, structural engineers, civil engineers, instructors, and students.
