| The 2004 Florida Residential Code is based on the 2003 International Residential Code, which is published by the International Code Council.
The 2004 Florida Building Code series has been expanded to include the new 2004 Florida Residential Code, which is based on the 2003 International Residential Code for One and Two Family Dwellings. This new volume in the Florida Building Code series will help ensure that new home construction in Florida is better able to withstand the forces of hurricanes, and better protect Florida residents.
These new codes have been developed and maintained by the Florida Building Commission, but are administered and enforced by local jurisdictions and certain state agencies. These jurisdictions and agencies may, under certain strictly defined conditions, amend the codes' requirements to be more stringent. |
