An asterisk in the margin of the code identifies sections of the 2003 International Building Code which were not adopted by the State of Michigan, and therefore have been deleted from the text of the code.
All who use or enforce a construction code in the state of Michigan are required to use the rules promulgated under 1972 PA 230, the Stille-DeRossett-Hale Single State Construction Code Act. This Act was amended in 1999 by PA 245, which became effective on December 28, 1999. Amendments to the Construction Code Rules (2003 Michigan Building Code) are effective February 29, 2004.
