| This publication is for the convenience of homeowners and contractors interested in installing mechanical equipment in a one- and two-family dwelling in conformance with the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC). The material conforms with the 1997 edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code.
Safe mechanical installations are accomplished by regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation and maintenance or use of heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems and other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances.
